Sally Arlena Wood Ferguson, age 86, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at her home in Willow Springs, Missouri. She was born September 2, 1932 to Benjamin F. and Lula Bella (Jones) Wood in Burnham, Missouri.
She was married to George Ward Ferguson on May 19, 1950. She worked at the Willow Springs Rawlings plant for 20 years and after their closing, she worked as a certified nurses aid at nursing homes in Cabool and Willow Springs before her retirement in 1994. She was an accomplished seamstress and donated her time and energy to a quilting group in Willow Springs who donated quilts to the needy. In addition, she spent numerous years volunteering at MUNCH food pantry and thrift store in Willow Springs. She continued to make quilting squares until shortly before her death. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a community volunteer.
Sally is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years, and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her son, Oscar Dave Ferguson and Barbara Enochs of Willow Springs; two grandchildren, Amber Russell and her husband, Ray of Magnolia, TX and Alex W. Ferguson of Branson, MO; her sister, Norma Sue Maher and Ron Jones of Ste. Genevieve, MO; and her brother, Frank Wood and his wife, Patricia of Goliad, TX.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Sally’s name to MUNCH, located at 811 E. Main St., Willow Springs, MO 65793.
A visitation for Sally will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. with the funeral service immediately following at 11:00 A.M. at Willow Funeral Home, LLC with Pastor David Lovan officiating. Interment will be at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Willow Funeral Home, LLC. Online condolences may be left at www.willowspringsfuneralhome.com
