Isiah Emerson Ballard, 90, of Steele, died Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at the Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born March 26, 20055 in Stone County, Ark., he was the son of the late Isiah Ballard and Georgia Hicks Ballard. He was also preceded in death by one step-daughter, Velta Webb.
He was united in marriage to Gladys Davis, who preceded him in death.
He was a farm worker and a member of the Samford Church of Christ.
Mr. Ballard leaves one son, Melvin Ballard, of Festus; five grandchildren: Cherie Ballard, Gregory Ballard, Cathy Jordan, Sherri Johannas and Phillip Kaiser; 23 great-grandchildren and two step-sons; Jerry Terry and James Terry.
Funeral services for Mr. Ballard were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2005 at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with Tim Howard officiating.
Burial was at the Mount Zion Cemetery near Steele with Powell Funeral Home of Steele in charge of services.
Pallbearers were Melvin Ballard, Terry Scott, Randy Scott, Keith Scott, David Daniels and Rance Daniels.

Mrs. Gladys Davis Ballard, 68, of Steele, Mo., died Wednesday, August 21, 1991, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett, Mo.
Daughter of the late Grover Davis and Rosie Dildine Davis, she was born December 7, 1922, at Holland, Mo. Two brothers, J.L. Davis and Wilson Davis, also preceded her in death. On March 26, 1957 she married Emerson Ballard at Steele.
A member of the Samford Church of Christ, she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Ballard leaves her husband, Emerson Ballard, of Steele; two sons: Jerry Terry of Steele and James Terry of Holland; one daughter, Velta Webb of Holland; her mother, Rosie Dildine Davis, of Steele; a sister, Irene Terry, of Steele; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Jarred Williams conducted funeral services Friday, August 23, 1991 at 2:00 p.m. from Bradshaw German-Aumon Chapel in Steele. Burial was at Mount Zion Cemetery near Steele with arrangements by Bradshaw German-Aumon Funeral Home of Steele.
Pallbearers were Dennis Rollins, Jerry Rollins, Gene Samford, Kevin Jackson, Shorty Potts, and Harold Scott.
