Funeral services for Donald Raymond Holt, 84, West Plains, will be Saturday, June 6, 2009, at the United Freewill Baptist Church, West Plains, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mr. Holt died at 3:54 p.m., Sunday, May 31, 2009, at his home. He was born May 12, 1925, at Amy, Mo., to Roy Eugene and Nora Bell Carrell Holt. He graduated from the West Plains High School with the class of 1943 and on Nov. 17, 1945, was married at Salem, Ark., to Fern Andrews who preceded him in death on April 14, 1994. On May 28, 1997, he was married at Mountain Home, Ark., to Eudene Smith Adkisson. Mr. Holt was a veteran, having served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. Before his retirement, he was employed with Caterpiller in Decatur, Ill. Mr. Holt loved his horses, enjoyed hunting and loved his family. He was a member of the United Freewill Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Eudene Holt, of the family home; three children, Linda Sue Clark, husband, Bob, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Larry Allen Holt, wife, Jody, of Kingston Springs, Tenn., and William Eugene Holt, wife, Nancy, of Kingston Springs, Tenn.; four stepchildren, Venita Fritz, husband, Joe, of Arnold, Mo., Geneva Wylie, husband, John, of West Plains, Glennis Adkisson, wife, Sheila, of Lancaster, Mo., and Dennis Adkisson, wife, Janice, of West Plains; nine grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nine step great-grandchildren; one brother, Albert Holt, wife, Betty, of Rockford, Ill.; one sister, Betty Lou Holt of Hialeah, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. His parents, first wife, and three brothers, Dale, Ralph and Kenneth Holt, precede him in death. Burial was at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to United Freewill Baptist Church Food Pantry and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
