Harrold Guinnip Braynard, son of Bruce and Daisy Braynard was born July 19, 1922 at Marshall, Illinois and died August 13, 2012 at West Plains, Missouri at the age of 90 years.
He was married to Novella Perkins April 19, 1947 at Marshall, Illinois.
He is survived by his wife, Novella; son, Gary and Linda of West Plains; grandsons, Shane and wife, Terri, and daughter, Autumn, of West Plains, and Dustin and wife, Krystal, of St. Louis; great grandson, Brody Smith of San Francisco; great granddaughters, Miranda Wright and husband, Jessie, of West Plains, and Megan Mitchell and husband, Stuart, of Mtn. Grove; great great grandson, Braxtin Wright of West Plains.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ruth McCleary and Jane Carson; brothers, Nathan, Nelson, Merrill, Edgar, and Noel, and a granddaughter, Sandra Braynard.
He was raised on the family farm in Marshall, Illinois and graduated from Marshall High School. He joined the Army on July 26, 1940 and was honorably discharged on September 5, 1945 with commendations including the purple heart. He proudly served in WWII and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. In 1955 he surrendered to the ministry and attended school at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois. He served as pastor to several churches in Illinois, California, and Missouri.
His favorite scripture was, Romans 1:16, For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth…….
Graveside services for Harrold Guinnip Braynard will be held on Friday, August 17, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. On Thursday evening, August 16, Carter Funeral Home Chapel will be open until 9:00 p.m. to accommodate anyone who would like to come in and sign the register book.

Graveside services for Novella Braynard, 91, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2012, at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, Howell county, Missouri under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.
She was born the daughter of Claude and Cordelia Perkins, August 28, 1921 at Magazine, Arkansas. She entered into eternal rest October 29, 2012 at West Plains, Missouri at the age of 91.
She was united in marriage April 19, 1947 in Marshall, Illinois to Harrold Braynard who preceded her in death August 13, 2012.
She is survived by her son, Gary Braynard and wife Linda of West Plains; grandson, Shane Braynard and wife Terri and their daughter Autumn of West Plains, grandson Dustin Braynard and wife Krystal of Saint Louis; great grandson, Brody Smith of San Fransisco, great granddaughters, Miranda Wright and husband Jessie of West Plains, Megan Mitchell and husband Stuart of Mountain Grove, step great granddaughter, Courtney Daves of Thomasville, great great grandson, Braxton Wright of West Plains.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harrold; one brother, Robert Perkins; three sisters, Edith Gabbard, Arva Joyner, Delta Anderson; and one granddaughter, Sandra Braynard.
She was raised in Paris, Arkansas where she graduated from high school. She met her husband Harrold in 1940 at Fort Smith, Arkansas and later married in 1947 after he returned from the war. She was such a good wife, mother, and later pastor's wife. She loved people and studying and teaching the Bible. Her favorite hobbies were drawing and painting. She will be missed very very much.
