Funeral services for Richard "Rick" Dooty, 54, West Plains, Mo., will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mr. Dooty died at 7:15 p.m., Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Springfield, Mo. He was born May 2, 1957, in the state of Iowa, to Bob Burke Dooty and Bonnie June Erickson Dooty. On Sept. 6, 1990, he was married at Memphis, Tenn., to Cynthia "Cindy" Roy Church.
Mr. Dooty enjoyed family barbecues, holidays, fishing, bowling and landscaping. He was a Christian and loved his Heavenly Father and fellow man.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Dooty, of the family home; two children, Angela Roy, fiance' Ricardo, Melissa Church, fiance' Roy Dykes, all of West Plains, Mo.; five grandchildren, Maria Wilson, Brenden Delancey, Zander Vowell, Andrew Vowell and Ryder Dykes; four brothers, Bob Dooty, wife, Debbie, state of Oklahoma, Chuck Dooty, John Dooty, wife, Pat, Fort Smith, Ark. and Mark Dooty, wife, Gina; one sister, Sharon Haley, husband, Mike, state of Arkansas; and one brother-in-law, Steve Roy, Alton, Mo. His parents and father-in-law and mother-in-law, precede him in death.
Burial will be in the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to American Heart Association or Council of the Blind, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
