Robert S. Darby, 91, son of Dr. R.E. Darby, DDS/MD and Mattie Darby, was born August 20, 1913, and died May 22, 2005.

Mr. Darby was a Staff Sgt. in the U.S. Army Air Force, serving in Italy as a radar technician for over two years. After returning to Springfield from World War II, he worked for Keller Wholesale Grocer Company, Lines Music Co., and Burks Machinery Co.

He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Wendell Darby.
