A Celebration of Life service for Charles Carpenter Clarke, 77, Pomona, Mo., was held at 2 p.m. today, Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Clarke died 10:50 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, at Ozarks Medical Center. He was born March 23, 1931, in Chicago, Ill., to Vearl and Elsie Hooper Morris.
He graduated from the West Plains High School, and on March 21, 1957, was married to Lavergne Voelke.
Mr. Clarke was a veteran having served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Before his retirement, he was employed as a truck driver.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lavergne Clarke, of the family home; five children, Debra M. Burnham, Sherry Sulek, husband, Jeff, Charles D. Clarke, Donald M. Clarke and Terry Wilder; eight grandchildren, Sherry Medina, Justin Sulek, Michelle Sulek, Nina Burnham, D. J. Clarke, Chad Clarke, Noah Clarke and Jackie Wilder; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Ed Morris; and one sister, Vicki Daniels.
His parents; two sons, Randy Wilder and John W. Clarke; one brother, Donald M. Clarke; and beloved dog, Taco, precede him in death.
Burial was in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery.
