Mr. Crickard either owned a quarry or was a stone mason, ans he was contracted in Oct of 1852 to provide cut stone and stone columns for the new county courthouse. The original plan was to add an addition to the existing court building. This plan was scraped and the new courthouse was began. It was completed in Jul of 1862.
