Son of Dale Alvin Newton and Mary Thomas Newton
Funeral services for James Dale Newton, 38, West Plains, will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 10, 2011 in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Newton died 12:10 p.m., Thursday, July 7, 2011 in St. John's Regional Medical Center, Springfield, Missouri. He was born May 24, 1973 at West Plains, Missouri to Dale Alvin and Mary Thomas Newton. Mr. Newton was a science teacher and his school children were very special to him. At the age of twenty, he had given blood twenty-two time within four years and at that time, he was one of the top five donors at the Ozarks Medical Center. He liked to travel and as a young man, he took his grandmother on several vacations. He had visited many places including Alaska and Hawaii; also, he took several cruises with his daughter, who was very special to him. Mr. Newton attended the United Freewill Baptist Church, West Plains.
He is survived by his daughter, Cora Beth Newton, Caulfield, Missouri; his mother, Mary Lawson, husband, Gary, West Plains; one sister, Cindy Sinclair, husband, Marty, West Plains; his nieces and nephews, Tara McFarland, husband, Ian, N. Las Vegas, Nevada, Cody Collins and Raven Collins, both of West Plains; and six great nieces and great nephews.
His grandparents and father precede him in death.
Mr. Newton will lie in state from noon Saturday until service time at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Union Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cora Beth Newton Education Fund and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. [ozarkareanetwork.com, Jul 8, 2011]
