Mudd, Elizabeth Jones Elizabeth Jones Mudd, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church. She suffered a stroke on Thursday and died peacefully Sunday evening, November 24, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Francis Gerard Mudd, MD; loving mother of Mary Linda Wilhelm, Madonna Rossell, Milissa Beaty (Scott), Marian Miaskiewicz (Rick) and Gerard Mudd (Sarah); dearest grandmother of Elizabeth Thornhill (the late Ted), Jonathan Wilhelm (Jessica), Patrick and Nicholas Wilhelm, Madeleine VanZyl (Arno), Emily Conchie (Daniel), John Ellis and Margaret Rossell, Christopher, Elizabeth and Matthew Beaty, Anna, Richard, Michael and Timothy Miaskiewicz, Mimi and Gerard Mudd; great-grandmother of five; dear sister of Dolores Jones Fritzsche and the late Vincent and James Jones; dear aunt and great-aunt. Elizabeth, together with her husband Gerard, were one of the founders of the St. Louis Abbey and the St. Louis Priory School. She was a founding member of the Fleur de Lis and for her 26 years of devoted teaching at St. Bridget's, she received a Globe Democrat Woman of Achievement Award. She was a recipient of the Luke Rigby Award, inducted into the Maryville University Hall of Fame, a Daughter of the American Revolution and a Dame of Malta. Elizabeth was active in numerous St. Louis artistic, cultural and philanthropic endeavors. -
