Milton Vankirk died at his home 2 ½ miles southwest of town January 2, 1912. Mr. Vankirk's death was caused by heart trouble, resulting from lingering kidney and lung trouble.
Milton Vankirk was born October 13, 1854 in Wayne County, Indiana. He came to East Lynn, Vermillion County, Illinois in the year 1879. He was united in marriage to Miss Frances Z. Culler December 15, 1880 and to that union there were 9 children born, which there are 6 living to mourn with their mother the loss of a loving husband and father.
Mr. Vankirk with wife and children came to Cabool in the year 1883 and in the year 1890 he united with the Christian church and has ever since been an earnest worker for the Lord.
His remains were laid to rest in the Cabool Cemetery. The service conducted by Rev. Medsker. [Cabool Enterprise, Jan 1912]
