WASHBURN, Mo. -- Thomas Jefferson Hunt, 80, of Washburn died July 9, 2002, at the Red Rose Inn Nursing Facility in Cassville, Mo. He was born April 18, 1922, in Murphy, N.C., to Lorenzo Dow and Roberta Gertrude Whitleys Hunt. He served in the Army with the 168th Infantry as a corporal. He received the EAME Campaign Medal with four Bronze Stars, the Good Conduct Medal, the American Defense Service Medal and the Distinguished Unit Badge. He was a service technician at AC & Heating Service for many years. After retirement, he moved from Houston, Texas, to the Washburn area in 1988. He was a member of the Mountain Bible Church, where he was a deacon and a trustee. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Survivors include his wife, Lillie Maye Hunt of the home; one son, Robert Hunt of Orange, Calif.; two daughters, Theresa Weathers and husband Robert, and Diana Hunt, all of Houston; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mountain Bible Church north of Pea Ridge with Jim Duncan officiating. Burial will be in Mountain Bible Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mountain Bible Church Building Fund, Rt. 1, Box 1821, Washburn, Mo. 65772
