F. Jay Fluty, 76, of Sebring, Fla., died Friday, October 24, 2008 at his home.
Born January 21, 1932 in Delbarton, W. Va., he was a graduate of Jackson High School in Jackson, Ohio.
Mr. Fluty was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and attended Business College in Portsmouth, Ohio.
He retired from Ohio Department of Transportation and also from Complete General Construction in 1993 after moving to Sebring from Delaware, Ohio.
He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Sebring where he served as a Deacon, Choir Member, chairman of Homebound Lord's Supper Committee and a member of Friendship Keepers Sunday School class.
Mr. Fluty leaves his wife, Lilla L. Jones Fluty, of the home;
One son, Steven and Cynthia Fluty of Arlington, Va.;
Three brothers: Bill and Jennie Fluty of St. Paris, Ohio, Jack and Mary Fluty of Vandalia, Ohio and Charles Fluty of Dayton, Ohio; and
One sister, Gladys and Dale Thompson, New Lebanon, Ohio.
Graveside service for Mr. Fluty was held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 29 at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with Powell Funeral Home in charge of services.
