Wade Hollenbeck, 52, well-known Steele druggist, was killed in a collison about four miles north of Blytheville on Highway 61 Friday night, and his six-year-old son, Stanley Wade Hollenbeck was critically injured in the wreck.
Also died was John L. Davis, 54, of near Blytheville and his son, Johnny Davis Jr., 10, was serviously injured.
The two boys were taken to Chickasawba hospital in Blytheville and then transferred to the Methodist Hospital in Memphis. A third passenger in the Davis car, 15-year-old Betty Davis, was less seriously injured and remained in the Blytheville hospital.
The head-on collision occurred just south of the overpass at Yarbro at a "V" intersection of Highway 61 and a road leading into Yarbro.
Mr. Hollenbeck and his son were on their way to Blytheville-Pine Bluff football game when the accident occurred.
Mr. Hollenbeck is survived by his wife, Mrs. Frankie Hollenbeck; a daughter and son, Susan Kay and Stanley; his mother, Mrs. Lela Hollenbeck; and a sister, Mrs. Imogene Frakes, all of Steele.
Funeral services were held at the Baptist church in Steele Sunday afternoon and burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
