Jim Lewis "J.L." Dildine, 76, of Steele passed away Saturday, Feb. 14 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born May 4, 1938, in Marmaduke, Ark., to the late Harold and Bessie Wesson Dildine. He was united in marriage to Margaret Louise Haynes on July 22, 1959, in Caruthersville. He was a diesel mechanic.
Mr. Dildine was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Geneva Mann; two brothers, Raymond and Larry Dildine, and one daughter-in-law, Nancy Dildine.
Survivors of Mr. Dildine include his wife; four sons, Jim Dildine Jr., Michael Dildine, and his wife, Debbie, Carl Dildine, and his wife, Sonya, and Johnny Dildine, and his wife Stella (a very special daughter-in-law); three sisters, Lois Blackwell, Billie Dildine and Barbara Matthews; one brother, Charles Dildine; three grandsons; three granddaughters; nine great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Graveside services for Mr. Dildine were held Wednesday, Feb. 18 at Mt. Zion Cemetery with Bro. Gary Andrews officiating. Interment followed.
Pallbearers were Mr. Dildine's family and friends.
John W German Funeral Home of Steele was in charge of arrangements.
