Services for Elwood Deaton were held January 3rd in the chapel of the John W. German Funeral Home in Hayti with the Rev. Douglas Clinton officiating. Mr. Deaton died December 30, 1981, in Hayti at the age of 50.
He was born January 29, 1931 in Springdale, AR to the late Albert and Addied Deaton. In 1955 in Micola he married Sue Sherburt.
Surviving are his wife in Hayti; two sons, Ricky and Gary of Hayti; four daughters, Mrs. Judy Nelson of Lubbock, TX, Mary and Vickie Deaton and Mrs Julie Miller all of Hayti; and one brother J. L. Deaton of Memphis, TN.
Pallbearers were J. R. and Johnny McWilliams, Earoney Clark, Timmy Tyler, Ricky Smith and Bobby Quick. interment was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.
