Mr. Homer Lee Johns, 75, of Steele, passed away Jan. 28, 2013 in Steele. Born Nov. 9, 1937 in Hackleburg, Ala., he was the son of the late O.C.Johns and Pauline Godsey. He was affiliated with the Pentecostal Church of God in Steele.
He leaves behind his wife, Mary Lindley Johns of Steele; three daughters, Wanda Buckley of Marion, Ark.; Sharon Turgemann of Israel; and Lavita Barnhart of Labelle, Fla. One daughter preceded him in death, Shelley Yates.
He leaves behind one son, Allen Stedham of Labelle. One son, Terry Lee Johns, also preceded him in death.
He also leaves behind two sisters: Roberta Strate of Labelle; and Madeline Sprouse, also of Labelle, Two sisters preceded him in death, Mary Sue Lyons and Willia Dean.
Mr. Jones leaves 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted Jan. 31, 2013 at the Wilson Funeral Home chapel with Brothers Gary Andrews officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.
Wilson Funeral Home of Blytheville was in charge of the arrangements.
