LeRoy Thompson, 74, of Morton, Ill., formerly of Steele, died Aug. 10, 1988 at Peoria, Ill. Born March 19, 1914 in Rogersville, Ala., he was the son of Jim and Georgia Thompson. He was a retired farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Wilma Arnold Thompson of Morton; Three sons, Harold Thompson of Southhaven, Mich., David Thompson of Holland, Mich., and Richard Thompson of Armington, Ill.; Three daughters, Mrs. Osie Gonzales of Chillicothe, Ill., Mrs. Laura Mae Henderson of Grand Junction, Mich., and Mrs. Berdean Bond of Armington; Five sisters, Mrs. Willie Culp of Steele, Mrs. Lucille Carr, Mrs. Maude May Simpson and Mrs Edna Guy, all of Caruthersville, and Mrs. Marie Mathiney of Hickman Bend, Ark.. Nineteen grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services were Sunday at 2 p.m. at German-Aumon Funeral Home in Steele, the Rev. James McCrary offciating, with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Anthony Bond, Chris, Sean, Kevin and Dietrich Adams Thompson and jeff Gonzales.


Wilma Arnold Thompson, 91, of Armington, Ill., died Friday, January 9, 2004, at the Pekin Living and Rehab center in Pekin, Ill.
Born Tuesday, November 5, 1912, in Senath, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Bert Thomas Arnold and Osia Small Arnold.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Sylvania Michaels; and two grandchildren.
She was retired from the Food Service Department of Hopedale Medical Complex in Hopedale, Ill. and was of the Baptist faith.
Wilma was first united in marriage to Charlie Gordon.
He preceded her in death.
Wilma was united in marriage to Leroy Thompson on November 9, 1935, in Cottonwood Point, Mo.
He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Thompson leaves three sons: Richard Thompson and his wife Pat, of Groveland, Ill., David Thompson and his wife Jenny, of Holland, Mich., and Harold Thompson and his wife Shirley, of Colt, Ark.
Three daughters: Berdean Bond and her husband Harold, of Armington, Osia Gonzales and her husband John, of Progresso Lake, Texas, and Lora Henderson, of Crystal River, Fla.; Nineteen grandchildren; Twenty-nine great-grandchildren; Six great-great-grandchildren; Two sisters: Alma Stovall of St. Joseph, Ill. and Bertie Lou Newman of Missouri; and Three brothers: James Arnold of Marion, Ill., Thomas Arnold of Kennett, Mo. and Harold Arnold of Bethalto, Ill.
Funeral services for Mrs. Thompson were held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 15, 2004, at the Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Steele,Mo., with Rev. Jim Mousie officiating.
Burial was at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home of Steele in charge.
Pallbearers were Gary Bailey, Cameron Sexton, Anthony Bond, Jeff Gonzales, Chris Dietrich, and Timothy Henderson.
