James Franklin Rodgers, 56, of Steele, died Sept. 20, 1990 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis. Born July 31, 1934 in Morehouse, he was the son of Harry Cleveland and Nettie Lowery Rodgers. He was a retired truck driver, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans. He was an Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jean Harrison Rodgers of Steele; Two sons, Don Rodgers of Korea and Bill Rodgers of Portageville; Three daughters, Mrs. Kathy Hinklin of Portageville, Mrs. Sandra Hughey of Clearwater, Fla., and Mrs. Renee Piner of Chester, Va.; Two stepdaughters, Mrs. Pam Nowlin and Mrs. Ginger Hester, both of Steele; Two stepsons, Jerry Lynn Harrison of Gainesville, Texas, and Randy Harrison of Denton, Texas; Four sisters, Mrs. Stella Hessling of Momence, Ill., Mrs. Della Payne of Sikeston, Mrs. Gladys Stone of Demotte, Ind., and Louise Rodgers of Galatia, Ill.; And nine grandchildren.
Services were Sept. 22 at john W. German Funeral Home in Steele, Cleve Manning and Bobby Quinn officiating, with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
