Funeral services for Johnny Ray Hicks, 64, Mountain Grove, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 21, 2012, at the Living Stones Assembly of God Church, Mountain Grove, Missouri, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Hicks died at 4:12 p.m., Monday, September 17, 2012, at Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, Missouri.
He was born October 16, 1947, at Pumpkin Center, Missouri, to Crawford H. and Gertha Agnes Gilbert Hicks. On December 31, 1966, he was married at West Plains, to Shirlen Sue Wilson. Mr. Hicks was a route salesman for Sears and Brown Furniture and a route driver for Holsum Bread. He enjoyed music, golf and fishing. Mr. Hicks was a member of Living Stones Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Hicks, of the family home; one son, Kevin Ray Hicks, West Plains, Missouri; two grandchildren, Kobe Ray and Devin; two sisters, Lois Ellison, husband Bill, West Plains, Missouri and Velma Jane Robinson, husband, Bob, Mountain Home, Arkansas; and many friends.
His parents, three half –brothers, Norman, Chester and Lewis Hicks, one half-sister, Allie Butcher and his grandpa and grandma, who raised him, Johnny and Estella Gilbert, precede him in death.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Collins Cemetery or Pottersville Cemetery, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. On line condolences may be expressed at robertsondrago.com.
