Obituary
Benjamin S. Shelton, 82, a carpenter here for many years, died this morning at 5:15 o'clock from heart disease and diabetes. He had been in declining health several months.
The funeral is to be held at the Summers & Flinchpaugh Funeral Home tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. Ralph M.G. Smith, pastor of the First Baptist Church, and burial will be in the Llewellyn Cemetery. The body is lying in state at the funeral home.
Mr. Shelton, a native of North Carolina, came to Kirksville from Troy, Mo., many years ago. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Anna Shelton; two daughters, Mrs. Forrest Wilson, Queen City, and Mrs. Albert Wagner, Ft. Collins, Colo., one son, Robert Shelton, Kansas City, and one granddaughter, Alice Wagner.
