Note:
In 1866, probably in Pennsylvania, John married Amanda Mattis from that state. Census records show they were living in Jewell County, Kansas in 1880 where John was a house carpenter. By 1900, they had moved to Kirksville, Adair County, Missouri, where John was a furniture and cabinet maker.

In 1910, the Angevines were still living in Kirksville, Missouri, where John was an undertaker who also had a furniture store.

Throughout the census records which this writer found, there are no children in the Angevine home, so it appears they had none.

Amanda died in 1915 of a cerebral homorrhage at age 68. Missouri Death Certificate 3630. Their home address at the time of her death was 415 N. Mulanix Street, Kirksville, Missouri. Amanda has a beautiful memorial at her grave, a statue of a woman beside a large stone that says Angevine. This sits facing south towards the main drive on the right as one comes into Forest-Llewellyn Cemetery. The stone with her complete name and dates is placed in an L pattern to the large stone.

John T. Angevine remarried on February 3, 1916 to Ella (Anderson) Dodson, and they are shown in the 1920 census of Adair County, Missouri where John was still an undertaker. He died in 1923, Missouri Death Certificate 14, and Ella did not die until 1959, Missouri Death Certificate 59-020256. Forest-Llewellyn Cemetery records show that John is buried in the same plot as his first wife Amanda; however, sadly a stone was never placed there. Ella is buried at Maple Hills Cemetery in Kirksville, Missouri.
