G.W. MELVIN, 78 YEARS OLD, DIES TODAY
Funeral Will Be Held At Home on North Main Street Wednesday
G.W. Melvin, 78 years old, died at his home, 415 N. Main street, about 2:30 o'clock this morning. He had been blind and subject to frequent spells of illness for the past four years. Pneumonia and a general run-down condition were given as the cause of his death.
Mr. Melvin was born in Michigan, but had been a resident of Kirksville for many years, and was formerly in business here, dealing with new and second-hand goods.
The funeral will be held at the home tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, with the Rev. C.F. Acree in charge. Interment will be made in the Forest Park cemetery.
Mr. Melvin leaves no close relatives except his wife. She was formerly Miss Mollie England.
