A.J. Lambeth
A.J. Lambeth, age 89, passed away 10 a.m. Thursday, June 24, 2004, at a local health facility. He was born Sept. 25, 1914, at Avilla, Mo., to G.I. and Pearl Lambeth.
Mr. Lambeth retired from Sperry Vickers of Joplin after 25 years. He farmed near Maple Grove. He and his wife operated a drive in Dairy Beam restaurant in Columbus, Kan., for several years. He was a longtime Carthage and Avilla resident. Mr. Lambeth was baptized at Forest Park Church in Joplin.
He is survived by his wife, Agatha Alexander. Other survivors include a son,Larry Lambeth and wife, Doris, of Noel, Mo.; daughter, Rolena Shaw and husband, Stanley, of Carl Junction, Mo.; son, Gordon Lambeth and wife,
Beverly, of Trinidad, Colo.; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Lambeth, in 1963; and two sisters.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 27 at Ulmer Funeral Home,Carthage. Burial will be in Avilla Cemetery.
