Marcus Dee Ganus, 82, of Steele, Mo., died of natural causes at his home Friday, November 3, 1995.
Born Wednesday, February 12, 1913 in the State of Mississippi, he was a son of the late George Elmer and Mima Delia Smith Ganus.
On July 1, 1934 in Lilbourn, Mo., he was united in marriage with Cleo Marie Russell, who preceded him in death.
Four brothers, three sisters, and one son, Earl Lee Ganus, also preceded him in death.
Of the Pentecostal faith, he was a retired farmer.
Mr. Ganus leaves eight daughters: Lorene Jackson of Tyler, Mo., Christeen Ganus of Batesville, Ark., Olene Reynolds of Cave City, Ark., Retha Goff of Lilbourn, Mo., Mary Webb of Blytheville, Ark., Marie Hawkins of Gosnell, Ark., Girdy Britt of Steele, and Priscilla Riley of Dyess, Ark.; six sons: Carol Ganus of Steele, Harold Ganus of Denton, Mo., James Ganus of Steele, Curtis Ganus of Marston, Mo., Gerald Ganus of Cooter, Mo., and Carl Ganus, of Steele; 52 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Ganus were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 6, 1995, at Faith Pentecostal Church in Holland, with Rev. Charles Faught officiating.
Burial was at Mount Zion Cemetery near Steele with Bradshaw Funeral Home of Steele in charge.
Pallbearers were Charles Reynolds, Mark Reynolds, Stephen Ganus, Doyle Jackson, Jonathan Ganus, and Joey Ganus.

Funeral service for Mrs. Cleo Marie Ganus was held Wednesday, January 9, 1980 at the Church of God in Holland, Mo. The Rev. Charles Faught officiated.
Mrs. Ganus was born July 1, 1918, at Milan, Tenn., and died January 7, 1980 at the Chickasawba Hospital in Blytheville.
She leaves her husband, Marcus Dee Ganus of the home; eight daughters: Lorene Jackson of Blytheville; Christine Reynolds of Batesville, Ark.; Olene Reynolds of Cave City, Ark., Mary Webb of Edwardsburg, Mich.; Gertrude Britt of Steele; Retha Mae White of Steele; Marie Hays of Blytheville; and Percillia Ganus of Holland; seven sons: Gerald Ganus of Cooter; Earl Ganus of Steele; Carroll Ganus of Steele; Harold Ganus of Steele; Carl Ganus of Armorel, Ark.; Tracy Ganus of Constantine, Mich.; and Curtis Ganus of Holland; three sisters: Elsie Dixon of Russellville, Ark.; Florence Henley and Wilma Russell, both of Milan, Tenn.; three brothers, Howard Russell of Trenton, Tenn.; and Edward and Fred Russell, both of Milan, Tenn. She also leaves 41 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Carroll Littrell, Clifford Britt, Donnie Riley, J.B. Barnard, Cecil Riley, and Raymond Britt.
Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery in Steele with the German Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
