Jim J. Darnell, Jr., a disabled Korean War veteran, died October 2, 1974, at the Veterans Hospital in Memphis. Services were conducted Friday, October 4, at 2:00 p.m. at German-Aumon Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. William Ussery officiated.
Mr. Darnell was born December 25, 1929 in Yuma, Tenn., and was the son of Jim Darnell, Sr., and Dessie Douglas Darnell.
He leaves three brothers, Kenneth Darnell, Joe Darnell and Bobby Darnell, all of Steele.
Pallbearers were Charles E. Smith, Carrol Lorren, Eddie Rinehart, Robert Carter, Olan Pierce and Basil Burns.
Interment was in Mount Zion Cemetery at Steele with German-Aumon Funeral Home of Steele in charge of arrangements.
