Vernon Anderson, 50, died May 9, 1980 at the Veterans Hospital in Poplar Bluff, Mo. Funeral service was held Sunday, May 11, at the German-Aumon Funeral Home Chapel in Steele. The Rev. James F. McCrary officiated.
Military honors were performed by Blytheville Air Force Base personnel. Blytheville Air Force personnel also served as pallbearers.
Mr. Anderson leaves his wife, Betty Anderson of the home in Hayti; one daughter, Lisa Gay Anderson of Steele; five sons, Brent Anderson of Fayetteville, Ark., Larry Anderson of Phoenix, Ariz., Wade Anderson of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, Craig Anderson of Tulsa, Okla. and Mark Anderson of San Diego, Calif.
He also leaves his father and mother, Grady and Ceclia Anderson of Steele; one sister, Phyllis Talley of Steele; two grandchildren, Brooke Anderson of Fayetteville, Ark., and Michael Anderson of Lubbock, Texas.
Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with the German-Aumon Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
