Grady Vernon Anderson died at his home in Steele, July 9, 1981, after a long illness.

He was born March 23, 1912, at Holiday, Tenn.

Services were held Sunday, July 12, 1981, at 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Steele, with Rev. James F. McCrary and Rev. Fred Pritchett conducting the services.

Music was by Joe Gallaher, organist, and Kyle and Barbara Lollar.

Mrs. Anderson leaves his wife, Celia Anderson, of the home;
A daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Talley of Steele;
A brother, Ermon Anderson of Lakeland, Fla., 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Dorothy Massey, and a son, Vernon Anderson, preceded him in death.

Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Steele with arrangements by German-Aumon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Buck Ballentine, Billy Gene Lewis, Jessie Edwards, Homer Alexander, Earl Brooks and George Cooke.

Celia Parlee Anderson, 82, of Steele, died Dec. 22, 1993 at her resldence. Born March 15, 1911, she was the daughter of Robert and Phoebe Pinkston Melton. She was the widow of Grady Anderson, a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program and First Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Phyllis Talley of Steele;
Two brothers, Carlie Melton of Dollar, Tenn., and N.B. Melton of Steele;
A sister, Delia Ellis of Little Rock;
Ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Dorothy Massey; a son, Vernon Anderson; and four brothers, Arthur, Perry, Scott and Roosevelt Melton.
Services were Dec. 24, 1993 at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Steele, the Rev. Michael Funderburk officiating, with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Bradshaw's German-Aumon Funeral Home of Steele in charge.
Pallbearers were Frank Collins, Max Weiner, Wayne Roberts, David Rotella, Lindel Turner and Gene Reams.
