Funeral service for Pearl C. Holt was held Monday afternoon at the braggadocio Baptist Church with the Rev. W.G. Gossett and Rev. James F. McCrary officiating. H.S. Smith Funeral Home was in charge with a Blytheville Air Force Base military graveside service. Interment was in Mount Zion Cemetery.
Mr. Holt was born in Oberlin, Ohio, on November 24, 1876. He died at his home in Braggadocio, Mo., on October 31, 1964.
The son of the late Andrew and Eliza Holt, he came with his parents to Missouri in 1882. He attended the Baskey School in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

In Lorain County, Ohio, on July 9, 1898, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was a private of Company "D" of the 6th Regiment of Infantry, Missouri volunteers. He fought in Cuba and received his Honorable Discharge on May 10, 1899, at Savannah, Ga.

On February 23, 1902, at Poplar Bluff, he was united in marriage to Miss Clara Belle Chilton.

The family moved to Braggadocio when Mr. Holt was 51.
Mr. Holt was an active member of the Republican Party in this county a number of years ago. He had been a Justice of the Peace, engaged in farming and was a guard for the U.S. Engineers at West Memphis, Ark.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He has kept a daily personal diary for the past 74 years.
Mr. Holt leaves his wife, Mrs. Clara Holt, of Braggadocio; two sons, John D. Holt of Steele, Mo., and Billie Holt of Braggadocio; three daughters, Mrs. Mable Wilkinson, Memphis, Mrs. Beatrice White, Piedmont, Mo., and Mrs. Norma Wilkinson, Greenville, Mo.; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Max Wallace, Joe Bob Coppage, Levey Pullam, B.M. Brasher, Bob D. Long, and Willard Long.
