Lavern Akers, daughter of the late W.A. and Nell Thompson Akers, was born Jan. 7, 1934, at Caruth, Mo., and passed away on Dec. 28, 2009, at St. Bernard's Medical Center, Jonesboro, Ark., at the age of 75 years.

Survivors include one sister, Betty Miller of Mt. Morris, Mich.; one brother-in-law, Tom Chandler of Senath, Mo.; three nephews, Joe Chandler, Ronald Miller, and Gary Miller; two nieces, Diane Brockmeier and Sherry Schlicht; nine great-nieces and nephews; along with many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Akers; and one sister, Marguerite Chandler.

Visitation will be held at the Senath McDaniel Funeral Home at 1 p.m., until time of service on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at the Senath McDaniel Chapel, with the Rev. Jim Pemberton officiating.

Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery near Senath.

Pallbearers include Joe Chandler, T.J. Chandler, Matt Chandler, Michael Schlicht, Alan Schlicht, and Bob Brockmeier.

McDaniel Funeral Home of Senath is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Liberty Cemetery, 307 E. Hornbeck Street, Senath, Mo., 63876.
