LEECH--At his home in this city Monday night 11:30 p.m., April 26th, John Leech.

He was born in Mercer county, Pa., May 12th [tombstone says 10th], 1833 and hence would have been 53 years old the 12th of next month. He served as a soldier in the late war and came to this place soon after its close. He joined the Methodist Episcopal Church when a boy and contiuned [sic] a consistent member to the time of his death. The funeral services were held at the M.E. Church, Wednesday 11 a.m. He was buried with the honors of the G.A.R., by the Post of this place of which he was a member. He leaves a wife, three children and many friends to mourn his loss.
