Floyd E. Hamilton of Frankford, Missouri, passed away, September 24, 2013 at Country View Nursing Facility in Bowling Green, Missouri.

Graveside services and Burial with full Military rites by Bowling Green V. F. W. will be at 4:00 PM, Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Frankford Fairview Cemetery in Frankford, MO. Supply Pastor Joe Siefkas will officiate.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Frankford Presbyterian Church in Frankford, MO. The James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO is in charge of the arrangements.

Floyd was born November 12, 1924 in Hannibal, MO to Harry E. and Lottie May Epperson Hamilton.

He married Margie Irene Riechard in Auxvasse, MO on August 7, 1949. She survives.

Other survivors include 2 sons; Steven E. (Debby) Hamilton and their son Eric E. Hamilton; Donald W. (Marilyn) Hamilton and their sons, Dustin M. (Courtney) Hamilton and Andrew C. Hamilton, 2 brothers; Dean (Linda) Hamilton and John (Edie) Hamilton. Also surviving are Floyd's in-laws; Lilie Ann (Robert) Galloway and Donald (Katherine) Riechard, and numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Ed and Margaret Riechard, brothers Jerd, Dale, and Harold Hamilton, and sister Helen Ruth Hamilton Pressler.

Floyd was a lifelong farmer in the Frankford area, except during the time he was in the Marines during World War II. During the war he fought in the battle of Iwo Jima and received the Purple Heart. For 17 years he was also a bus driver for Bowling Green R-1 School District, serving from the Frankford campus. He and his family have been very active members in the Frankford Presbyterian Church, where he has served as an elder, trustee, and past high school Sunday School teacher.

His vocation and interests centered around farming, helping his sons with gardening and other projects, visiting with family, friends and neighbors, and helping others. He was an especially supportive father and grandfather, as well as helping other family and friends in need. He loved helping little kids and had a special place in his heart for the kids on his school bus route.

The family requests no flowers, but would appreciate cards and letters for their mother Margie.
