Mary “Frances” (Watson) McGlaughlin was born in Luxora, Arkansas on Oct. 26, 1919, the fourth of six children born to Julian “Dood” and Allen Cornelia (Hill) Watson. She died at her home in Cabool, MO on Saturday, March 23, 2013.
On March 6, 1937 she was united in marriage to James Allen McGlaughlin, to this union a daughter, Janie Ruth Chun and three sons, James Wayne, Larry Thomas d Ronald Lewis were born. The family farmed in Mississippi County, Arkansas and Frances was not afraid of the hard work involved. From Arkansas, the family moved to the Chicago area and nearing retirement they moved to Texas County and settled on a farm in Elk Creek, MO.
Over the years she worked outside the home at various jobs, including working for a time at Cabool Schools in the kitchen. She enjoyed gardening, home décor and crafting as hobbies and was involved in these activities until chronic illness kept her home-bound.
Frances was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was a member of the local congregation in Cabool, volunteering her time to help others learn more about the Bible. She was active up until the time of her death.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; a sister; a son, James Wayne; a son-in-law, Terry Chun; a great granddaughter, Amy Nichole Chun and a grandson, Jason Deboard. She is survived by her daughter, Janie Ruth Chun; sons, Larry Thomas and Ronald Lewis McGlaughlin; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Her grand and great grandchildren were very special to her and she loved them very much. She will be greatly missed by her family and large circle of friends. [egcfuneralhome.com]
