Guy Chalmer Okes, 87, a former resident of Frankford, died Nov. 3, 1988, at this home in Springdale, Ark.

He was born August 29, 1901, in Vandalia, the son of the Rev. George Okes and Sue Criner Okes. He was reared in Frankford, graduated from Frankford High School in 1918. After studying at Kirksville Teachers College and Chillicothe Business College, he wasa school teacher at Vannoy School; a businessman in Frankford; and an auditor for the Public Service Commission retiring in 1966 after 21 years with ACF Industries in St. Louis.

He received his 50-year pin from the Masonic Lodge in 1984. He was a longtime member of Hope Congregational Church in St. Louis, and attended Fellowship Bible Church in Springdale.

Survivors include his wife, Irene Hanson Okes, to whom he was married Sept. 27, 1925; a daughter Mrs. Dan (Gloria) Perkins of Springdale; one sister, Mrs. Maurine Perkinson, formerly of Center, now living in Springdale; and two grandsons.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Kirks Funeral Chapel in Bowling Green with burial in Fairview Cemetery at Frankford. The Rev. John Glasser of Fellowship Bible Church in Springdale officiated.

Pallbearers were Keith Perkins, Michael Perkins, Michael Brown, Stanley Hanson, Donald Hanson and Paul Hanson.

Graveside services were held Saturday, Aug. 21 at 10:45 a.m. for Irene V. Okes, 96, at Frankford Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Gareth Allum officiating.

Mrs. Okes died Wednesday Aug. 18, 2004 at Moore-Pike Nursing Home in Bowling Green.

She was born Nov. 7, 1907 in Pike County near Farmer to Frank and Sadie Kimberlin Hanson. She married Guy Chalmer Okes. He preceded her in death Nov. 3, 1988.

Survivors include her daughter, Gloria Perkins and husband, Dan of Springdale, Ark.; two grandsons; and one granddaughter; two brothers, Paul Hanson of Bowling Green and Donald Hanson of Laddonia; and nieces and nephews.

Also preceding her in death were three sisters, Victoria Elwood Willis, Floy Nelson and Dorothy Lovelace; two brothers, Lloyd Hanson and Stanley Hanson; and two siblings, Ancel and Shirley, who died in infancy.

She lived most of her adult life in St. Louis and Springdale, Ark. She was a homemaker, an account executive, a genealogist, a Bible students and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and daughter.

Mrs. Okes was a member of Fellowship Bible church in Springdale, Ark.
