WM. DARNELL, AGED 76, DIES HERE TODAY

Resident of Kirksville Many Years; Funeral Thursday.

William R. Darnell, 76, died at his home, 420 W. Dodson this morning at 3:25 o'clock. He had been ill since last December with stomach and liver trouble. For many years he was in the draying business here.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10 o'clock at the Summers and Powell Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Ralph M.G. Smith, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Eggert Cemetery, north of Llewellyn Cemetery.

He was the son of Adam and Minerva Darnell and was born Jan. 15, 1868.

He was married to Miss Mary Rolston on Feb. 25, 1896. One son, Pearl, was born to this marriage and he died July 15, 1936. Pearl was a veteran of World War I.

He is survived by his widow, one brother, Frank Darnell, of Des Moines, Ia., one sister, Mrs. S.M. Hanlin, of Novinger.

The body will lie in state at the Summers & Powell Funeral Home.
