Frances Gray was the daughter of John Turner and Suzzannah Gray. She married Jesse Kirk. Their children were: John Gray Kirk, Susan Ann Kirk, Charles Sylvester Kirk, George Madison Kirk and James Travis Kirk.

Obituary; Page 3, column 2:
Francis Kirk was born in N. C. in 1804; moved to the west in an early day, came to Oregon in '65, and with her children located in Lane county; died Oct 30, 1867.
Sister Kirk experienced religion in her youth, and united with the Baptist Church. But when the M. E. Church opened its doors in the far off west, she united with it as the church of her choice. She had been a meek follower of Jesus and a faithful laborer in the Church for over fifty years. Her house was a welcome home to the ministers of Christ. God blessed her works, and she lived to see her children and grandchildren converted in the Church. Her last words to us were, "I am reconciled"; "I am willing to go." ." She has gone to receive her crown of eternal glory.
