DALE SHOUSE
---Mrs. Dale Shouse received a telegram from the Navy Department on Thursday of last week stating that her husband, Dale Eugene Shouse, Seaman First Class, U.S. Naval Reserve, was killed in action October 12 and that the body had not been received.
---Dale was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Shouse of La Plata.
---Dale is said to have been on three naval vessels which were damaged in battles and then was transferred to a gunner on a bomber.

---Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Shouse of La Plata, Rte. 3, have received a letter from Commandor S. H. Warner of the United States Navy containing more information about the death of their son Dale Eugene Shouse, twenty-four, on October 24.
---"It is reported that full particulars are not available," Commander Warner said, "But we will give you such information as is available here in Washington."
---He said the report received in Washington indicated young Shouse was killed in and aviation accident when the seaplane in which he was riding as a crew member, collided with another airplane during a training flight in the Hawaiian area. Both airplanes plunged into the ocean, instantly killing all occupants of both. The planes sank immediately and although salvage operation were conducted for several days, the bodies of the six men involved were not recovered.
