Louis Howard McClure died May 12, 1976 at Pemiscot County Medical Center at Hayti at the age of 85. He was born December 8, 1890 at Lenox, Tn., to the late Finis and Cathy Pearl McClure.
A veteran of World War 1, he had been a member of the American Legion Post 88 of Caruthersville for over 50 years. He was married to Lola Terry at Cooter May 21, 1919.
Mr. McClure leaves his widow, Lola McClure of Steele; three sons: Euwin McClure, Atlanta, Ga.; Calvin McClure, North Edwards, Cal.; and Dale McClure, Steele; two daughters, Nadine Wilson of Steele and Sue Benson, West Memphis; one brother, Huey (Jack) McClure of Cooter, two sisters: Lala McCann, Canalou and Margaret Wilson, Caruthersville; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 14, at 2:00 p.m. at the Holly Grove Baptist Church in Cooter with the Rev. Joe Smith officiating.
Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele with John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge of arrangements.
