Funeral Services for Sherry Marie McGoldrick of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 11:00 am, Friday, November 13, 2015 at College & North Church of Christ, with Brother Ken Burton and Brother Bill Dillon officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until time of service at the church.
Sherry passed away November 9, 2015, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 61. She was born March 10, 1954, in Rock Island, Illinois, the daughter of Joe Luther and Opal Marie Bennett McGoldrick. She lived in Mountain Home since 1975, moving from West Plains, Missouri. Sherry was an employee at Baxter Regional Medical Center for more than 30 years. She was a unit secretary, dispatcher and EMT for the ambulance service and went on to complete her Practical Nursing Certificate in 1985. She received the Arkansas Student of the Year Award from the Student Practical Association of Nursing. After working in an allergy related clinic, she returned to Baxter Regional Medical Center as the Infection Control Nurse until her retirement in December of 2013. She was the first LPN in the state of Arkansas to be nationally certified in Infection Control. She was instrumental in working with Baxter County Officials and the Health Department to develop the first county Pandemic Influenza Plan in Arkansas. She was a member of the College & North Church of Christ. She enjoyed taking care of everyone else and loved family gatherings, especially Christmas and going out with friends.
Sherry is survived by her siblings, Bill (Amy) McGoldrick of Mountain Home, AR, Rosalee (Bill) Carter of Nashville, TN, Linda (Mike) House of Caulfield, MO and Jerry (Judy) McGoldrick of Caulfield, MO and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and niece, Julie McGoldrick.
Burial will be in the Howell Memorial Cemetery, Pomona, Missouri, with Glenn Priebe, Jim Estes, John Caststeel, Terry Batterton, Gerald Cantrell and Bob Bodenhamer as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers are her special friends, Bobbie Burchard, Sandy Priebe, Evelyn Osborn, Cindy Davenport, Tammy Amyx, Judy Kucginski, Kathy Tackett, Barbara Mearing, Geneva Caststeel, Ann Glueck, Debbie Killian Bell, Donna McMullen, Donise Young and Deborah and Jack Baker.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House, 774 Long Street, Mountain Home, AR 72653.
