Arzy Ernest Richardson, 80, of 609 W. Gardner died at 2:30 this morning at his home. He had been in failing health for the past two years and seriously ill six months.
Born in eastern Adair county on Nov. 5, 1896 he was the son of George and Liza Creason Richardson. In February 1925 he married Ruth Chapman, who preceded him in death in 1932. In Kirksville in September 1934 he married Dorothy Herbert who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Arzy Junior Richardson of Belton and Max Richardson of 712 N. High; one step-daughter, Margaret Wright of 207 E. Patterson; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one niece and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant son and one sister, Elizabeth Rummerfield.
Mr. Richardson was engaged in farming in the Adair-Willmathsville area until 1964 when he retired and moved to Kirksville.
He was a member of the Faith Church United Methodist.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at two o'clock in the chapel of the Foster Memorial Home. The Rev. Harold Spradling will conduct the services, assisted by the Rev. Leota Moore. Burial will be in Maple Hills cemetery.
Bearers will be Clyde Johnson, Stanley Ambrosia, Charles Marts, Wayne Goldsberry, Frank Foster and Cecil Taylor.
