Walter H. Epperson, seventy-eight, who lived most of his life on a farm south of Hurdland, died Monday in a Kansas City hospital. The son of Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Epperson, he was born March 21, 1881 south of Hurdland. He was married to Carrie Boring on March 25, 1908. She died in April, 1956.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ed Pinnell of Lees Summitt, a grandson; three brothers, G.R. of Edina, John D. of Atlanta and H.L. of Hurdland; two sisters, Mrs. Amma Botts of Kirksville and Mrs. D.B. Tobey of Springfield.

Mr. Epperson, a member of the Novelty Christian Church, had lived in Lees Summit the past two years. He, at one time, worked in banks in Plevna and in La Plata.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Novelty Christian Church with burial in Maple Hills Cemetery in Kirksville.
