Mr. Ronald David Huff, age 49, died at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Missouri, on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 after fighting a long battle with pancreatic cancer. David was born March 9, 1962, in St. Louis, Missouri to Ronald Ray and Mary Ann Bowen Huff. Most of his childhood days were spent in Boss, MO where he attended Boss Assembly of God.
While in junior high, David learned to play the drums and developed a lifelong passion for playing them. Throughout the years he played with many jazz bands, southern gospel groups, contemporary Christian groups and many other church worship bands. David enjoyed teaching Sunday school and leading youth. He was instrumental in planting Lifeline Church in West Plains, MO. His love and concern for others led him to volunteer his time as the pastor of Lifeline until prohibited by the effects of his battle with cancer.
David spent 24 years working as an engineer for the Department of Defense; the last 20 years at DRS in West Plains, MO. He enjoyed his job as an engineer and loved the people with whom he worked.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years Melissa Ann Keeney Huff; daughter, Kristin Nicole Huff; and son, Ronald Logan Huff all of the home. He is also survived by his parents, Ronald and Mary Ann Huff of Boss, MO; his maternal grandmother, Margaret Bowen of Mineral Point, MO; his brother, Scott and wife Trish of Boss, MO; father and mother in-law, Eddie and Phyllis Keeney of Licking, MO; brother and sister in-law Trey and Michelle Moeller of Webb City, MO; 3 nephews; 1 niece; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Homer and Lena Huff; and maternal grandfather Frank Bowen. [ozarkareanetwork.com, Aug 25, 2011]
