Funeral services for Reverend Howell Lee Gay, 82, West Plains, will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010, in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Reverend Gay died at 12:45 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, at his home. He was born Sept. 24, 1927, at Silsbee, Texas, to William Elbert and Amanda Williams Gay. On Oct. 27, 1952, he was married at Abilene, Texas, to Marjorie Lucille Wright who preceded him in death on Feb. 27, 2000. Reverend Gay was a veteran, having served with the United States Navy. He had attended the Abilene Christian College, worked in construction and was a minister.
He is survived by six children, Regina Breedlove of Blaine, WA, Brenda Lambe, husband, John of West Plains, MO, Rhonda Lambe, husband, Bill, of Custer, WA, Barbara Drake, husband, Richard, of Langley, B.C., Canada, John Gray, wife, Jennier, of Yarrow, B.C., Canada and Raymond Entropp, wife, Marilyn, of Weatherford, TX; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents; wife; one daughter, Sherry Lea Gay; two brothers; and six sisters precede him in death.
Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Evergreen Cemetery and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Howell County News, Aug. 18, 2010)
