Funeral services for Francis Bazzwell (Scotty) Scott, 96, West Plains, Missouri, will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2011, in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Scott died at 4:15 a.m., Monday, November 14, 2011, at West Vue Nursing Center, West Plains, Missouri. He was born June 30, 1915, at Cassville, Missouri to the Reverend Elbridge Bazzwell Scott and Alta Frances McVey Scott.
On March 4, 1933, he was married at Fordland, Missouri to Martha Mildred Mann Gaskins, the ceremony officiated by his father. Mr. Scott was a veteran having served at the Invasion of Iwo Jima, the Asiatic Pacific Theatre and the American Theatre of War with the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Scott had a grade school education, but later received a GED. He was a security guard for the Habor Department in southern California. In 1951, he attended the Bible Institue of Los Angeles(BIOLA) where he studied the Hebrew language for three years under Dr. J. Vernon McGee. Mr. Scott was always proud of having worked at the West Coast Theatre, a movie theatre in Long Beach, California, as an usher and later as the Assistant Manger. In April of 1975, he retired as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service after eighteen years of employment. Mr. & Mrs. Scott loved to travel and in 1992 they fulfilled a lifelong dream by taking a trip to the Holy Land. He had many hobbies which included painting, wood carving, and photography. Mr. Scott loved music and loved to play the organ. He was baptized in 1948 and later helped organize the Johnson Valley Church in Landers, California where he served as a Deacon. Most recently he was a member of the First Christian Church of West Plains.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Scott, West Plains, Missouri; his niece, Marcia Moyer and husband, Joe, West Plains, Missouri, and many other special nieces and nephews living in various locations throughout the country; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, L. B. and Mary Strawn, Cerritos, California; and sister-in-law, Leila Rahm, Payson, Arizona.
His parents, brothers and sisters, Floyd, Verda, Bert, Pansy, Ollie, Wilson, infant brother Francis, Pauline, Walter and William, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Reynolda Clegg, brothers-in-law, Robert Mann and Mansfield Strawn; nephew, Timothy Clegg; and his father-in-law, and mother-in-law, Allen and Lura Strawn, precede him in death.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery.

Funeral services for Martha Mildred (Mann) Gaskins Scott, 99, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 13, 2012, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Scott died at 12:07 a.m., Monday, October 8, 2012, at West Vue Nursing Center.
She was born February 20, 1913, at Clarkton, Missouri, to Warren Franklin Mann and Lura Belle Neeley Mann. In 1930, she was married to Delbert Gaskins, who preceded her in death in 1931 and to this union one child was born, Darrel Gaskins. On March 4, 1933, she was married at Fordland, Missouri, to Francis Bazzwell (Scotty) Scott, whose father officiated at the ceremony. They were married for seventy-eight years. Mr. Scott preceded her in death on November 14, 2011. Before her retirement in 1975, she worked as a clerk in a stationary store in Los Angeles, California. Mrs. Scott was known by her family as Milly. She loved music, playing an accordion and dulcimer, enjoyed planting flowers and plants, liked to cook and crochet. Mrs. Scott also wrote poetry. She loved to travel with her husband and in 1992, together they fulfilled a lifelong dream of taking a trip to the Holy Land. Mrs. Scott was a member of the First Christian Church of West Plains.
She is survived by one brother, L. B. Strawn, wife, Mary, Cerritos, California; niece, Marcia Moyer, husband, Joe, West Plains, Missouri; and many other nieces and nephews living in various locations throughout the country.
Her parents, husbands, one infant child, three brothers, Robert Earl Mann, and wife, Pauline, J. W. Mann, Warren Mansfield Strawn, two sisters, Mabel Mann and Reynolda Clegg and husband, James and one nephew, Timothy Clegg, precede her in death.
Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 12, 2012 at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery.
