William Thelbert Bishop, 79, died January 27, 1989 at the Pemiscot County Medical Center in Hayti, Mo.

Son of the late William Edward Bishop and Dorothy E. Fitts Bishop, he was born December 1, 1909 at Cerro Gordo, Tenn.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Steele in which he was very active. A retired auto parts salesman, he was a past school board member and a lover of all kinds of sports.

At Blytheville, Ark. on October 14, 1931 he was united in marriage to Zelma Webb, who preceded him in death December 15, 1985.

He leaves the following: two sons: Larry Bishop of Brentwood, Tenn. and Eddie Bishop of St. Charles, Mo., one brother, Webb Bishop, of St. Louis; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Funeral services were held Sunday, January 19, 1989 at 2:30 p.m. at the Baptist Church with Rev. James F. McCrary and Rev. Gene Edwards officiating.

Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele, Mo. with John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge.

Pallbearers were Keith House, Marvin Poole, Mark Carter, Larry Bishop II, Keith Bishop, and Brad Bishop.

Funeral services were held Sunday, December 16, 1985 at First Baptist Church in Steele for Mrs. Zelma I. Bishop. Rev. James McCrary officiating.
Mrs. Bishop was born January 26, 1909 at Cooter, Missouri and died December 15, 1985 at River Oaks Nursing Home in Steele, Missouri at the age of 76.
She was the daughter of the late James R. Webb and Texia Young Webb. She was married to William Thelbert Bishop at Blytheville, Arkansas, October 14, 1931.
She leaves her husband, William Thelbert Bishop of Steele;
Two sons, Larry Bishop of Nashville, Tennessee and ? Bishop of Jonesboro, Arkansas;
A sister, Mrs. Ruth Okins of Indianapolis, Indiana and five grandshildren.
Interment was in the Mr. Zion Cemetery near Steele, with John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge.
