Lonnie Anderson, well known blacksmith and carpenter, passed away Sunday, August 22, 1943 at the State Hospital in Columbia, Mo. at the age of 59.
He was born in Georgia, August 22, 1884.
Death was caused by intestinal obstruction adhesions. Mr. Anderson had been in bad health for a number of years. On July 16, he was carried to the State Hospital in Columbia for an operation. After being removed back home on August 12, his condition became worse and he was admitted to the Walls Hospital in Blytheville. After remaining there for two days, he was moved back to Columbia and there death came at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Mrs. Ella Anderson of Blytheville, Ark., one son, Lester, of Michigan; three daughters, Mrs. Mattie Smothers of Fowlkes, Tenn., Mrs. Roy Hendricks of Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Vernon Smith of Mich.; three sisters, Mrs. Sallie Anderson of Steele, Mrs. Estelle Merritt of Atlanta, Ga., and Mrs. C.B. Bryant of McCarty, Mo. He also leaves several grandchildren and other relatives.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Methodist Church with Rev. C.B. Garner officiating. Burial was made in Mount Zion Cemetery with German Undertaking Co. in charge of the arrangements.
