Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon October 11, 1953 at the Steele Methodist Church for John Lafayette Frame, well known resident of Steele for many years, and serving as Police Judge at the time of his death.

Mr. Frame was born in Lewisville, Texas, on August 2, 1898, the son of John T. and Sallie G. Frame. At the age of two he came to Pemiscot County, where he resided at the time of his death.

He was married to Grace Buchanan in 1913, and to this union was born three sons. One son, James Franklin, preceded him in death July 2, 1928. In his early married life, he engaged in farming, but later went into the grocery business. He has served six two-year terms as Police Judge of this city.

Mr. Frame became a member of the Methodist Church at an early age, and has been a faithful member ever since, serving on the board of stewards the last ten years. During his life he has belong to several civic organizations.

He passed away last Thhursday, October 8 at the Barnes Hospital in St. Louis at the age of 55 years, 2 months, and 6 days, after being in declining health for some time. His body was brought to Steele by German Funeral Home, who had charge of arrangements.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Grace Frame, two sons, John Carl and Ralph Walton, both of Steele, one granddaughter, Rita Ann; his mother, Mrs. Sallie G. Frame; four brothers, Paul, Conrad, Clark and Robert, all of Steele; and one sister, Mrs. Herman Via of Steele, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Rev. Marvin Niblack officiated at funeral services, and was assisted by Rev. Roy Bagley, pastor of the First Methodist Church at Blytheville. The Steele IOOF Lodge had charge of graveside services at Mt. Zion Cemetery where Mr. Frame was interred.

Pallbearers were Wade Hollenbeck, Leyon Earls, Howard Graham, Jesse Ledford, Bun Campbell and Henry Lovelace.

Mrs. Grace B. Frame died September 20, 1984 at River Oaks Nursing Home in Steele at the age of 85.

Born November 25, 1898, at Olivehill, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late John and Martha Buchanan.

Mrs. Frame was a sales clerk, having worked for several businesses in Steele. She was a member of Steele Rebekah Lodge and The Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. She was married to Lafayette Frame in Steele on April 20, 1918. Her husband and a son, James Franklin, preceded her in death.

She leaves two sons: Rev. Carl Frame of Sikeston and Ralph Walton Frame of Steele;

Three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, September 23, at The Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Doyle officiating.

Pallbearers were Clarence Poteet, Reginald Watkins, Herbert Ketchum, Joe Saliba, Wilburn Clark and Pinnell Capehart.

Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Steele with John W. German Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
