John Clifford Manson was born April 19, 1935, at Little Rock, Ark., the son of William Alferd Manson and Ida Marie (Skaggs) Manson. He passed away Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, at his home in Pomona, Mo., at the age of 76 years. He was united in marriage to Dolores Page on March 15, 1962, at West Plains, Mo.
John was preceded in death by his parents; one son Michael Baty; three brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife Dolores Manson of Pomona, Mo.; one daughter Laura Hayes and husband Terry of Pomona, Mo.; one son Brian Baty and wife Teresa of Benton, Ark.; one brother Clemont Manson of Killeen, Texas; two granddaughters Amanda Dickens and husband John of Benton, Ark., and Chaundell Hobbs and husband Stephen of Bryant, Ark.; three great-grandchildren Taylor Dickens, Haylee Dickens and Casen Hobbs; and a host of other family and friends.
John enjoyed hunting and fishing. He worked all the time on the farm. John loved coming to Mountain View every morning and afternoon to "BS" with people at Ron's Family Restaurant, Ozark Trading Post and Richard Brothers Feed Store. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 12, 2011, at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Mountain View, Mo., with Pastor Brian Ingalls officiating. Interment was in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery in Pomona, Mo., under the direction of Duncan Funeral Homes of Mountain View, Mo.
