Mrs. Sarah Frances Northcutt, long time resident of this community died at the family residence Friday, December 6, 1946. She was 81.

Funeral services were conducted at the Assembly of God Church Saturday at 2 p.m. The Rev. R.A. Sherrill, pastor in charge, was assisted by the Rev. Van Bibber of Blytheville. Interment was at Mt. Zion Cemetery with the German Undertaking Co. in charge.

Pallbearers were Austin King, Thurston Weaver, Joe Morton, Reo Thornton, Gale Callins and Herbert Weaver.

Survivors include one son, I.K. Northcutt of Denton; three daughters, Mrs. Bessie Pyke and Mrs. Lydia Flood of Steele, Mrs. Bell Wyable of Caruthersville; one brother, Ben Grindstaff of Denton; and 20 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the Denton Baptist Church for James K. Polk Northcutt, who died Tuesday morning where he had lived for 44 years. Rev. J.W. Riggins conducted the services and burial was made in Mount Zion Cemetery.
James K. Polk Northcutt, son of I. Berry and Jane Northcutt, was born near Swift, Tenn., August 1, 1857, and departed this life January 21, 1941 at the age of 83 years, 5 months and 20 days.
He was married in 1883 to Sarah Francis Grindstaff and to this union was born six children. One child died in infancy, leaving to mourn his passing, his wife, Mrs. Sarah Northcutt, four daughters, Mrs. Lydia Flood, Mrs. Bell Wyble, Mrs. Ardina Brumley and Mrs. Bessie Pike; one son, I. K. Northcutt, eighteen grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren, all of Denton, one sister, Mrs. Easter McCaslin of Olive Hill, Tenn.; one brother, Frank Northcutt, of Cerro Gordo, Tenn., and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Northcutt engaged in farming the most of his life, working in timber between crops to help support his family. His hobbies of life were hunting and fishing and especially was he fond of small children, and spent many happy hours telling them stories and playing with them.
After reaching the age of 65, his conversation death wholly upon spiritual things and his mind was all upon God. He was one a member of the Maccabee Lodge and at time of death was a member of the Church of God and attended regularly when able to do so.
