Lesper Andrew Jarred, 66, of Steele, died Sunday, March 22, 2009, at St. Bernard Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
Born Sept. 14, 1942 in Steele, he is the son of the late Pleas Jarred and Pearl Brumley Jarred. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Imogene Jarred and two brothers, Dougan and Henry Jarred.
Lesper was united in marriage to Alice Faye Burns on Dec. 9, 1963 in Holland.
He was a graduate from Steele High School and built cabinets for many years. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Jarred leaves his wife, Alice Jarred, of the home; three daughters: Angela Whitley of Jonesboro, Pamela Kaye Robinson and her husband Kris of Steele and Beverly Battles and her husband Greg of Manila, Ark.; Two sisters: Donna Ward of Steele and Glenda Treece of Caruthersville; four grandchildren: Kirsten Robinson, Peyton Robinson, Jeri Kay Battles and Tyler Battles; and A host of friends and relatives.
Funeral services for Mr. Jarred were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, at Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with Pastor Danny Lacer officiating.
Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.
